Ageing with Choice: Future directions for seniors housing 2019–2024
The western Australian Government's Ageing with Choice document provides direction over the next five years to improve housing choice and outcomes for older Western Australians. Ageing with Choice recognises that everyone ages differently. Housing needs in older age are driven by changes in health, financial or family circumstances, rather than numerical age.

Like most developed countries, Australia has an ageing population. The number of people in WA aged 65 or over is projected to grow by 40 per cent to more than 500,000 by 2026.

For Low-Income Renters, the Affordable Housing Gap Persists
Finding affordable housing isn’t getting any easier for the more than a quarter of U.S. renters that are extremely low-income. For six years, the National Low Income Housing Coalition has released an annual report calculating the discrepancy between available affordable housing units and renters who earn below the poverty line or 30 percent of the area median.
