HAAG working groups meet regularly to discuss solutions to the various housing issues facing older people. The meetings are a great platform to uncover ideas and make some new friends in the process.

This working group is made up of residents from Victorian caravan parks, residential parks and residential villages. This group focuses on increasing resident knowledge and understanding of the issues in this sector and seeks to lobby for more community and government action, as well as law reform.
Residents of not-for-profit retirement villages and independent living units have poor legal protection. This group seeks improvements to laws and policies on their housing.
Campaigns and Policy Working Group
Focuses on the big issues such as the need for more public housing, better housing options for older people and related issues like pensions and transport.

Cultural Diversity Reference Group
This is a group of culturally diverse older people who have an experience of housing stress or work with people who have experienced homelessness or housing stress. The group contributes to relevant HAAG policies, builds awareness of HAAG in the community, reports specific information about the community’s needs to the group and advocates for community needs.
