HAAG working groups meet regularly to discuss solutions to the various housing issues facing older people. The meetings are a great platform to uncover ideas and make some new friends in the process.

NASH is a National Group that meets via phone link up to coordinate campaigns for older peoples housing around the country. Find out more

Retirement Accommodation Action Group

Are you passionate about retirement housing reform? RAAG is actively campaigning for a better deal for residents of retirement villages, caravan parks, rental parks and Independent Living Units. Get involved with the campaign to establish a Retirement Housing Ombudsman and put a stop to excessive fees and unfair contracts. Find out more

LGBTI community reference group

The LGBTI reference group brings together older representatives from the LGBTI community to identify and address barriers and issues relating to accessing housing and homelessness services and maintaining secure and affordable housing. The group aims improve the ability for older LGBTI people to navigate the housing and homelessness system and avoid a housing crisis. For further information email rebecca.walton@oldertenants.org.au

Cultural Diversity Reference Group

This is a group of culturally diverse older people who have an experience of housing stress or work with people who have experienced homelessness or housing stress.  The group contributes to relevant HAAG policies, builds awareness of HAAG in the community, reports specific information about the community’s needs to the group and advocates for community needs. Campaigns and Policy Working Group

Focuses on the big issues such as the need for more public housing, better housing options for older people and related issues like pensions and transport.
