An effective homelessness services system for older Australians
This research is part of a wider AHURI Inquiry into an effective homelessness service system and this project is focussed on the following questions:
• What is the appropriate balance between early intervention, prevention and crisis services for older homeless people, and between specialist and mainstream services, in order to provide the most efficient and effective response to this group’s need

Adapting homes for ageing well in London
In London there are just over 1 million people aged over 65 and that number is expected to grow to 1.2 million by 2024 – an increase of 22% in 10 years. There are 140,000 people aged over 85 in London, and that is expected to increase to 180,000 over 85 by 2024, a 38% increase in 10 years.

Older female renters are the 'canary in the coal mine' for housing affordability
There are a growing number of Australians facing rental stress in their retirement. Home ownership rates are falling and mortgage debts are rising for many older Australians. Also, the number of private renters in the 54-64 age group is projected to increase by over 50 per cent to 567,000 in 2031.
And it's getting harder for older renters to find adequate and secure housing.
