Shane and Liz talk to Hoda and Melis about their work for HAAG in multicultural communities and the barriers older people from migrant backgrounds face in Victoria's housing system.
HAAG welcomes the recognition that housing insecurity places older people at increased risk of abuse and mistreatment. To reduce this risk, it is essential that older people can access secure and genuinely affordable housing. Recognising this in the broader social context of this plan is a positive step towards addressing and preventing elder abuse.
House Chats is a chance for HAAG members and friends to get together, catch up and share stories, ideas and opinions about housing for older people, or whatever it is we want to talk about! Come and be a part of the HAAG community and get to know the other friendly members.
