HAAG’s first ever online Annual General Meeting is coming up on Thursday the 19th of November at 11am

Older women were already the fastest growing cohort of the homeless before COVID struck. There is now a very real concern that many will never work again. This has not been helped by a significant lack of explicit policy measures in the recent budget to invest in sectors employing women and those over 50.

Over 100 people attended the online launch two reports on LGBTI older people, housing and homelessness in Victoria. Watch the presentation here!

“At Risk: understanding the population size and demographics of older women at risk of homelessness in Australia”, commissioned by Social Ventures Australia, written by Dr Debbie Faulkner and Laurence Lester, University of Adelaide

“Older women in the private rental sector: unaffordable, substandard and insecure housing” by Dr Emma Power, Western Sydney University.
