Embedded networks have the potential to provide cheaper power to residents through bulk purchasing arrangements and access to renewable energy. However, as considered in the Embedded Networks Review, too often, this does not occur. Extensive case studies illustrate how older people on low incomes feel trapped in unaffordable energy plans. HAAG's recommendations identify ways to reduce excessive costs to customers in embedded networks and address discrepancies in pricing.
