National Older Persons Housing Network Coordinator

We are seeking a person to provide support to an exciting national project to end homelessness for older people.  Working closely with the national project coordinator, you will be supporting a group of older people from across Australia to collaborate and campaign on the issues around affordable housing for older people.

This position is one day a week for two years, hours negotiable, and requires an understanding of how to empower groups, run meetings and motivate and support people across the country in working together on a common goal.  A core organising committee has been meeting regularly, and now needs further support to consolidate and expand their vision.

You will have high levels of empathy for older people , experience in group work, an understanding of social justice and community development principles and  knowledge of working within community member-based organisations.   High levels of organisational skills are essential, and a knowledge of web-based communications is an advantage.
