Housing Support Worker- Outreach
Join our small team of housing support workers in a unique specialist service that achieves real outcomes for older people at risk of homelessness. Our community-based organization is in the heart of the city and works with a diverse range of older people working towards housing justice and long-term secure housing outcomes for people aged 50+. Attractive conditions and salary packaging available.
The Housing Support Worker – Outreach role works closely within a small housing support team to provide case management support to older people at risk of homelessness. Our clients are aged over 50 and Outreach workers assist them to find long-term affordable housing, linking them in with other services and assisting them to move where appropriate. The client group is made up of 50% culturally diverse older people, so experience in working with older culturally diverse people, an understanding of cultural barriers, experience with using interpreters or speaking a community language will be an advantage in this role.
The service is part of a community-based organization that is striving for housing justice through advocacy, policy and community education. The housing support service is not a crisis intervention service and our clients receive tailored support according to their needs and goals. A flexible and innovative approach within a supportive team means this unique service provides satisfying work that makes a difference.
