Federal Election 2016: Who I voted for and why

"I'm chairperson for the Housing for the Aged Action Group (HAAG). The Greens have always put homelessness on their agenda. The Coalition don't even think about older people. We're seeing people every day that need help; people who have been in great careers, who have become ill, weren't able to work, and then become at risk. We need to change how we think, especially governments; they have not put anything about an older person's national housing strategy on the agenda at all."

Sunday reaction: "I don't think both parties got across the major issues. They've lost the plot. Why are they not appealing to the people on the ground? We're going to have more homeless people on the street unless the major parties have a good look at housing. If you don't have safe, secure and affordable housing it goes right down the chain to the young people. They need jobs and a strong economy. The Liberals had no guts or substance. We still don't feel secure, or that the government who is leading us - and working for us - understands what our needs are. This Abbott and Turnbull infighting will go on and on.
