There is real momentum for change to address older person's homelessness across the country. Our voices are powerful. People speaking out and asking decision makers for action can shift government policy to improve housing outcomes for older people as a priority. This toolkit provides some tips for influencing your federal representatives.
The toolkit is a simple guide to walk you through the process of arranging a meeting.
We have drafted a template letter for you that you can personalise to send to your local federal member and other candidates. If you’re only comfortable with sending the letter or have limited capacity, feel free to edit the letter and remove the section that requests a meeting and send it to the relevant members or candidates.
This policy documents outlines HAAGs demands to fix the housing system for older people. You can download the policy document and take it with you to the meeting or send it through via email after the meeting.
