International Womens Day Crafternoon

8 Mar 2023

Sadly this event has been cancelled.

Join the International Womens Day Rally instead

This International Women's Day we seek to raise awareness of how a lifetime of systemic discrimination, places women in financial disadvantage and at increasing risk of experiencing homelessness. 405,000 older women are at risk of homelessness in Australia. Women who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, culturally and linguistically diverse, or are part of the LGBTIQA community are at increased risk.

Wednesday 8th of March
Level 3, Ross House,
247 Flinders Lane

We'll be 'Embracing Equity' by creating a paper quilt that recognises a woman's right to a safe, secure and affordable home.

Please come and join us for an afternoon of crafting. Materials for making the paper quilt will be provided, along with an afternoon tea. Feel free to also bring along that craft project you haven't quite finished.

This is a day to socialise and celebrate the strength and resourcefulness of women but also demand change. Let's embrace equity.

Please let us know you are coming by calling Rebecca at the office (03) 9654 7389 or email her on rebecca.cook@oldertenants.org.au
