Musical Event

Melbourne musicians breathed life into the incredible songs of Townes Van Zandt.

Artist Les Thomas nominated Housing for the Aged Action Group to receive proceeds from A Tribute to Townes Van Zandt held on Saturday 12 November at the Empress Hotel, Fitzroy North "after researching organisations that are doing great work in address housing and homelessness issues".
The night featured solo artists and a full band.

Ageing on the Edge: Older Australians at risk of homelessness

A national one-day event is to be held on Thursday 30th June 2011 at ACMI, Federation Square, Melbourne. The aim of the event is to highlight the latest research and hear the community sector’s perspective on the housing and homelessness problems faced by low income older people in Australia.

Housing for the Aged Action Group held a forum to discuss the future of public housing and the role of registered housing associations. We encouraged our members and also residents living in public housing to attend the forum.

6th National Housing Conference

The 6th National Housing Conference was in Melbourne on Tuesday 24 to Friday 27 November 2009.

Jeff Fiedler from Housing for the Aged Action Group was one of several key people on a panel for a sesssion on Wednesday 25 titled 'W2 My future home: the challenges for future housing provision'.

Session objective
This session explored what ‘home’ will mean in the future and the role it will play in the lives of individuals and families. What will this mean for future forms of housing, for tenure, for the way housing is funded and delivered, and for where it is located?
