Towards a Charter of Older Tenants Rights

Thanks to the many tenants and residents from around Victoria,
who attended HAAG's Statewide Forum at the end of June this year.

With over 90 participants, the afternoon discussion broke off into 3 main workshops to look at private rental, public housing & Independent Living Units & Villages.

Also, to look at what key issues tenants and residents in each tenure wanted to see included into an overall Charter of Older Tenants Rights.

At the end of the day, each workshop reported back to the larger group of participants
and a summary of the views of participants have been included into
a draft of the Charter of Older Tenants Rights.

The Draft Charter was mailed to all Forum participants & HAAG members.
A Special General Meeting was held to examine & refine the charter.
People from all rental housing tenures contributed many ideas.
