Living in Limbo

The Caravan and Residential Park Residents Statewide Forum was held on Wednesday 29th June 2005. This report from the forum was produced in March 2006.

The views put forward in this report are based on discussions held during a one day Forum organised by Housing for the Aged Action Group, where approximately 100 older residents from a number of caravan and residential parks across Victoria came together to discuss their concerns about the problems they faced with their accommodation. The response from residents was overwhelming, and the active participation of the large number of people who attended revealed their widespread concern about the difficulties faced by residents in caravan and residential parks in Victoria. Many people who attended this forum became members of the working group Caravan and Residential Parks Residents Association (CARPRA) working for reform.

From the publication of this report in 2006, the Caravan and Residential Parks Residents Association continued to work and lobby on these issues through until September 2009. Reforms and changes to legislation are expected prior to the 2010 state elections. Additional material about CARPRA and its progress can be found on the following page.
