A Visit to Brookfield Residential Park in Melton

On November 27 2006 HAAG organised a delegation of the Caravan and Residential Park Residents Association (CRPRA) to visit a new Residential Park development called Brookfield in Melton.
Brookfield is being built in three stages with the first stage completed recently.
There are currently about 100 residents living there with 270+ planned for the future.

The trip to Brookfield was preceded by a visit to Federation Village in Werribee where some of the CRPRA members live.
After enjoying the hospitality of the Federation Village residents we travelled to Brookfield where a large group of residents were waiting to meet with us.

The meeting focused on providing information to the Brookfield community about their rights and discussing their own needs.
A number of CRPRA members spoke about their own experience in their own park with a particular focus on the important role of residents' committees as a way for residents to sort through their problems and provide a collective voice to park management.

After the meeting we were provided with afternoon tea and then we toured Brookfield to see how it is progressing.
